“Where the Water Holds me” - Padre Bay at Lake Powell
25” x 37” Made from reclaimed oak, cherry, beech, honduran mahogany, and Philippine Mahogany with gold leaf and resin
About 5 weeks after my dad passed away I was able to visit Lake Powell last fall. This is a deeply personal piece that reflects the serenity and healing I found at the Lake during the wake of my fathers passing. Crafted from wood, resin, and gold leaf, it embodies the embrace of water-its stillness offering solace, its depths echoing memory. The flowing resin captures the movement of the lake, while the gold leaf glimmers like the warmth of remembrance and renewal. This piece is a tribute to the way nature cradles us in our grief, gently guiding us toward peace.
